Extensive scaffolding work is currently being carried out on two bridges in Kalpetran over which the MGBahn runs. The renovation of a third bridge is planned for next year. For the current work, holes had to be drilled into the bridges and provided with glued-in threaded rods, to which the scaffolding is now securely fastened and provides a stable base for further work. Transporting the scaffolding material posed a particular challenge: After being loaded from the truck onto the rail car, it was taken by train to the bridge, where it was unloaded partly by crane and partly by hand. Over the next few days, three platforms for the work installations will also be erected to ensure optimum working conditions.
