Full speed through three nights: pavement construction

A cantonal road is best rehabilitated when there is little traffic: at night. In Raron, the road builders from Voweg, a Volken Group company, recently worked three night shifts. After a four-centimeter-thick layer of the old pavement was milled off in the first shift, the specialists laid about 200 tons of reprofiling two centimeters thick the next day. This was because it had become apparent that the sub-layer was badly damaged and needed to be leveled. Last night, four trucks and special machines were used to apply the 500 tons of surface course.
