Salgesch/Sierre

Hydraulic engineering Raspille

Machines with a total weight of 195 tons and a total output of 1733 hp are currently in operation at the Raspille in Salgesch. The "Raspille confluence" project provides for the reactivation of an old branch of the Rhone. The widening of the stream bed, which is a compensation measure for the A9, will create more space for the flora and fauna in the Pfyn. Fish passability in the new oxbow lake will be restored by removing a sill and deepening the bed of the Raspille. Last but not least, this project will also further improve flood protection by increasing the flow volume of the Rhone at the Raspille confluence.
