Keeping groundwater in check: Seepage basin near Raron

Close to the SBB line and the A9 motorway near Raron, the Volken Group is realizing an infiltration basin against occurring groundwater - in cooperation with 3dMetall AG. For this order of the canton of Valais, several sheet pile boxes were constructed first, then the excavation pit was dug and the dewatering system was installed by means of pump sumps. Currently, the settling basin is being built in cast-in-place concrete.
