New pipes for more runoff: Finstergraben flood protection

Should the Finstergraben be hit by water floods, not only buildings but also the cantonal road, a section of the MGBahn railroad and the underground gas pipeline are at risk. To protect the population and these objects, the Volken Group is working on a larger culvert for about four months. The project also includes 6.5-ton water pipes, which were laid by a new walking excavator and a truck-mounted crane, among other things. No easy task: Swissgas is monitoring the gas pipeline during the work. The water can swell abruptly due to heavy precipitation and become a hazard.
