Ready for many a winter: Avalanche deflection dam Täschwang
Even when imposing structures are required, the Volken Group is at work - currently on the Täschwang avalanche deflection dam in Täsch. No less than 45000 m3 of material is being removed, backfilled and covered with 25000 m2 of humus. The project also includes an 860 m long access road and an S&P net to protect passers-by. The terrain is very steep, so a walking excavator is also on site. Two large excavators, two large dumpers and an additional 16-ton excavator are needed to move this enormous amount of material. The only thing that can interrupt the work is heavy rain or - like last year - heavy snowfall.
