Ready for many a winter: Täschwang avalanche deflection dam

The Volken Group is also at work when imposing structures are required - currently on the Täschwang avalanche diversion dam in Täsch. No less than 45,000 m3 of material is being removed, backfilled and covered with 25,000 m2 of humus. The project also includes an 860 m long access slope and an S&P net to protect passers-by. The terrain is very steep, which is why a walking excavator is also on site. Two large excavators, two large dumpers and an additional 16-ton excavator are needed to move this enormous amount of material. The only thing that can interrupt the work is heavy rain or - like last year - heavy snowfall.
