Turtmann

The concrete comes at night: New Turtmänna railroad bridge

The railroad viaduct in Turtmann is being replaced and relocated by around 30 m; in a second step, the watercourse of the Turtmänna is being adjusted. The Volken Group, as part of the consortium with Prader Losinger, is therefore also working at night. The concrete required for the construction of the piles is delivered by Volken Group mixer trucks. The concrete is pumped under the tracks to the installation site by Volken Group employees via a pipeline, which remains permanently installed until construction is complete. All in all, a challenging project: in recent weeks, the specialists have been working 16 nights, sometimes from 02:00 to 04:00, when no trains are running.
