Tough task mastered: crane transport from Steg to Zermatt.

To complete the new water reservoir near Zermatt, the specialists from the Volken Group brought a 45 m high crane with a 50 m jib to the site. The route from the depot in Steg to the transfer point was covered by the company's own heavy transporter. As the route through Zermatt is very demanding, the truck was accompanied by a police patrol. The dismantled individual parts were transported to the construction site by a dumper truck and then assembled with the help of a mobile crane from Clausen. A mobile concrete plant will also soon be installed to produce the necessary concrete using the rock material that will be mined in 2023. The use of locally sourced resources and state-of-the-art technology will ensure that concrete production is as environmentally friendly as possible.
