To ensure that everything continues to run according to schedule at MGBahn, its train compositions also require periodic maintenance. This is where underfloor lifting systems make a big difference: they can be used to easily lift multi-unit rail vehicles. The Volken Group worked on excavating the pit required for this with a volume of almost 26000 m3. In addition, the special civil engineers stabilized their walls with around 3000 m3 of shotcrete and constructed the cable shafts. In front of the depot itself, Volken Group employees laid 3350 m of curbs. Heavy drilling rigs, several trucks, hydraulic excavators of up to 30 t and other special machines were used for this major project. A real masterpiece: the logistics were complex, rail operations could not be interrupted, and the entire project is scheduled for completion by 2025.
