Repair of Meggeri, Kapf and Schallbett

  • Work: Rehabilitation of BW-IS artificial structures under traffic
  • Client: FEDRO, Federal Roads Office
  • Site manager: Giuliano Mafrici
  • Foreman: Alessandro Salemi
  • Construction period: 2015 - 2018
  • Construction costs: 28 million

The section has a total length of approx. 1.55 km and is single-lane with two-way traffic. The section consists of several engineering structures: 3 galleries, Meggeri (521 m), Kapf (47 m) and Schallbett (634 m), 2 tunnels, Kapf 1 (34 m) and Kapf 2 (78 m), as well as 3 bridges, Meggeri bridge (82 m), Meggeri viaduct (20 m) and Schallbett viaduct (124 m) and several retaining walls and smaller structures. On the one hand, the structural measures are aimed at ensuring that the tunnel, galleries, bridges and retaining walls conform to standards. In addition, the durability and serviceability of the structure is to be increased by means of repair measures.
