Bridges
To increase safety against fatigue, the roadway slab is to be reinforced with additional reinforcement. The shear resistance of the cross girders will be increased by reinforcing them with additional stirrups and installing additional supports. On bridges 3 - 6, the deck and the expansion joints will be replaced.
Galleries
In their current state, the overall stability of the galleries is provided by bar anchors (nails). These can only be regarded as temporary anchoring measures within the meaning of SIA 267 art. 11.6.3, have no corrosion protection and cannot be inspected. They will therefore be replaced by new prestressed anchors. The safety against rockfall is sufficient in the entire section. In the Kuoni and sound bed gallery II, the rear wall and the supports are to be repaired using unreinforced concrete up to a height of 2.5 m at the top of the decking. The existing guide wall in the sound bed gallery will be subjected to a conventional concrete repair and extended over the Kuoni gallery.
Slope stabilization
The geological assessment of the slope stability above the gallery has three danger areas. As part of the repair of the cold-water gallery, various slope stabilization measures are required; these concern the safety of the crack, the stabilization of the surface and the drainage of surface runoff in the catchment area of the landslides with discharge into the stream to the north.
Measures in the KaKuJo section
As part of the overall project, further measures will be determined and planned for the entire cold water gallery:
- Creation of SOS niches at regular intervals of 150 m (alternating)
- Creation of hydrant niches (every 150 m on the uphill side, every second as a combined SOS hydrant niche) Dimensions of the niches in accordance with SIA 197/2:2004
- Replacement of the plastic panels on the valley side (as protection against snow drifts) with non-combustible glass blocks
- Drainage in a separation system with collection of street water by means of slotted channels in the upper 250 m of the cold water gallery (as the sides are completely closed by glass blocks) and by means of inlet shafts in sections 1 to 5 of the cold water gallery
