The Matterhorn Gotthard Railway is modernizing its fleet extensively over the next few years. Twelve new "Orion" standard multiple-unit trains will be purchased by 2023, followed by a further 18 multiple-unit trains by 2028. This development requires extensive adjustments to the workshops and depots in Glisergrund. In addition to the expansion of the existing halls, a new washing facility will also be built and the entire track area will be renewed. Before the track field and overhead lines can be renewed, the shafts and pipe blocks must first be rebuilt. As with all track construction work, safety is the top priority. Good coordination with the client is essential to ensure this and to avoid disrupting MGB's ongoing operations.
