- Construction period: Sept 2024 - March 2025
- Construction costs: CHF 940,000.00
Technical data:
- 1850m² sheet pile walls
- 93m GRP pipes DN 1500
- 250m³ concrete pipe block
- 1350m³ excavation pit
- 700m pipeline construction
Project description:
The existing Lonza retention basin K01 will be removed and replaced by the construction of a new basin further to the west (Domig site). In connection with the construction of the new basin, the first two construction stages of a new inlet channel from the old basin K01 to the new basin will be carried out in this construction lot.
GRP pipes with a diameter of 1.50 m, encased in concrete, are being laid for the channel. Due to the proximity of the groundwater during the excavation work, the trench must be constructed along its entire length using a closed sheet pile wall box and appropriate dewatering.
The pipeline section (inlet channel construction stages 1 and 2) is approx. 93 meters long. The work was carried out in two stages in 2024/2025.
Requirements:
- The construction work was all carried out in compliance with Lonza's strict safety requirements (EHS manual)
- Earthworks in groundwater (excavation support and dewatering)
