Project description:

The S185 Bitsch substation project comprised structural measures to increase the physical protection of the existing Swissgrid system. Earthworks and excavation work were carried out and existing components were professionally dismantled. New concrete foundations for fence, gate, door and camera mast systems were constructed. In addition, cable protection conduits, cable ducts and the associated earthing measures were implemented in accordance with Swissgrid standards. Existing installations and lines were protected and kept in operation during the construction work. The work was carried out in compliance with the applicable Swissgrid standards, SIA standards and SUVA specifications. A complete construction site installation with access roads, energy supply, signaling and safety precautions was operated for the entire construction period. The aim of the project was to sustainably improve the safety and protection infrastructure of the substation.
