New pipes for more drainage: Flood protection Finstergraben

If the Finstergraben is flooded, not only buildings but also the cantonal road, a section of the MGBahn railroad and the underground gas pipeline are at risk. In order to protect the population and these objects, the Volken Group has been working on a larger culvert for around four months. The project also includes water pipes weighing 6.5 tons, which were laid by a new walking excavator and a truck-mounted crane, among other things. No easy task: Swissgas monitored the gas pipeline during the work. Heavy rainfall can cause the water to swell suddenly and become a danger.
