Securing a tunnel while traffic is moving. Sounds impossible? Not for us.

Around six months ago, we successfully completed the immediate measures at the Engi Gallery (A9). The aim was to ensure the load-bearing capacity of sections D and E until the long-term renovation. And we did this while traffic continued to flow.

The existing construction on the valley side, consisting of parapet and supports, has been reinforced with concrete wall panels. The walls on the uphill side were reinforced with anchors and the existing concrete deck was reinforced with an over-concrete layer. The drainage pipe and the surface were also rebuilt on these sections. Everything was implemented with minimal traffic restrictions. When planning, coordination and craftsmanship work together like this, a challenge becomes a reference project.

Six months later, one thing is certain. The investment in stability has paid off. Our #TeamVolken is proud of this.
