Property description:

The existing Walka Zermatt school complex was replaced in stages by a new building. The three connected buildings with a gymnasium were demolished in two stages. In the first demolition phase in 2021, the old buildings 1 and 2 were demolished. After the new school complex was built, the last building was demolished in 2024.

Requirements:

  • The demolition work is being carried out directly in or adjacent to areas of the new school building that are in use and in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
  • The newly constructed school building is directly adjacent to the building demolition site of the last stage. Accordingly, the demolition had to be carried out in a controlled manner.
  • The work had to be carried out using the lowest-emission methods and with appropriate measures to minimize noise, dust, vibration, and environmental impact.
  • With our Volvo EC380HR high-reach demolition excavator and the appropriate attachments, the demolition work was carried out successfully.
  • The “Longfront” arm extension was used for the demolition, enabling the demolition excavator to reach an attack height of up to 23 meters.
