Description of the project:
The Siwitschuggen is known as an active rockfall source. There have been several rockfall incidents in recent years. The 130m long and 4.5m high protective dam is intended to improve the safety of road users on the cantonal road between Eisten and Saas Balen and to protect the infrastructure. The rock face was under constant surveillance to protect personnel. The personnel were informed by an alarm system. All excavation, debris and block throwing work was carried out using GPS and 3D-controlled machines.
