Almost as demanding as an operation: preparatory work at Brig Hospital

People in hospital need peace and quiet - even when buildings are being demolished, earth is being dug up, roads and parking lots are being built and new pipes are being laid in the neighborhood. That's why the Volken Group is almost doing the doctor's work in terms of construction technology during the preparatory work for Brig Hospital. The experienced teams are using demolition and pneumatic excavators, dumpers, a large roller and other equipment. Only in this way is it possible to demolish around 1400 m3 of old building fabric with materials of various types and excavate 15000 m3 of soil for the parking lot, for which a retaining wall is also being built. In addition, various works for roads and parking lots, around 2500 m of new utility lines and around 60 new shafts will be carried out. In addition to the Volken Group, VOWEG is also involved as a subcontractor for the surfacing and Zehnder Haustechnik for the sanitary work. Ultimately, this is the "A hospital in the Upper Valais" project - implemented in stages over a number of years and always geared towards sustainable, patient-friendly and future-oriented planning and construction.
