Construction work on the complete renovation of the Lax train station has been underway since May. On behalf of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, the platforms, parking lots, and the access road to the station are being renovated. Currently, the work is being carried out while the station remains in operation. However, access to the platforms and trains will still be guaranteed. A complete closure will take place from October 25 to November 14. During these three weeks, the entire track system at the station will be replaced and a pedestrian underpass will be constructed. The goal of the renovation is to make Lax Station safer through the pedestrian underpass and to ensure that access to the trains is accessible to people with disabilities through modifications to the platforms.
