More snow on Riederalp? We're working on that, too.

Gone are the days of guaranteed snow—even at 1,900 meters above sea level. That’s why our construction company is currently expanding the snowmaking system on Riederalp. The project is receiving active support from employees of Riederalpbahnen. First, we’re using machinery to excavate a 2.4-kilometer-long trench, into which an excavator will later install cast-iron pipes. Next, our civil engineers will install 32 three-piece concrete shafts. Once this work is complete, the trench will be backfilled with soil. This lays the foundation for the slopes that will attract winter sports enthusiasts of all kinds next winter.
