Susten

New construction and conversion of school building

The school building in Susten was built in the 1970s. In view of the increasing number of pupils, a new building was constructed between August 2019 and November 2021, which includes 7 classrooms, 4 group rooms, 2 offices and a staff room.
The existing school buildings were also renovated in order to meet the increasing requirements in terms of ICT infrastructure and to meet all accessibility standards. The aim of the refurbishment was to retain the character of the school buildings despite the conversion. For this reason, the existing school buildings were optimized with a few, localized interventions. Individual walls, floors and thresholds were dismantled and partially rebuilt. A lift shaft was also built. The structural measures in the interior have largely been completed. The exterior and façade of the building are currently being renovated with concrete.
During the summer vacations, the playground will then be given a new coat of paint and a new bus stop will be built for the schoolchildren. Once the work has been completed, the new school building will offer pupils a real school home and teachers an optimal infrastructure.
