The Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn is carrying out repair work on the Visp trough, consisting of an underpass (L=45 m) under the cantonal road and the connecting ramp structures on both sides (L= 345 m). The concrete is being removed using high-pressure water jets. In addition, the cable systems (cable ducts and cable conduits) are being replaced. The retaining wall between the south ramp and the cantonal road is being replaced. This will involve repairing the adjacent road area, including the asphalt pavement, surface water pipes, and inlet shafts.
