Project description:

The excavation for the new Blatten water reservoir in Zermatt was carried out in the 2023 construction season. A total of 11,750 m³ of rock had to be blasted and transported to an interim storage facility. Of this quantity, 5,000 m³ of rock was crushed using a crushing plant and then sorted using a screening plant. The material was divided into three components and served as the raw material for the concrete work for the 2024 construction season. At the start of the 2024 season, a mobile concrete plant was installed to produce all the concrete for the construction of the reservoir directly on site.

Requirements:

  • Blasting work
  • Mobile concrete plant
  • Difficult accessibility
  • Short construction time
  • High demands on concrete
